Jace Kruse (Steele Early College High School) - Outstanding Student Advocate
A recent graduate of Steele Early College High School, Kruse was one of 52 students named as a Texas PTA Child Advocate Award winner, and from those 52 was the lone student named as Outstanding Student Advocate.

Kruse has been a PTA advocate at Steele, NISD and the state level. He was a member of the Steele PTSA Board, supported the NISD Council of PTAs and coordinated a group of students from Steele to advocate at the Texas PTA Rally Day in Austin in February. Because of his work with the PTA, he recently changed his college major to political science.

“Jace is an amazing young man,” said Michelle Smith, president of the Northwest ISD Council of PTAs. “We were awed by his transformation in leadership and study this year. He volunteered over 100 hours, earned his high school degree, earned his associate degree and found time to help others learn about advocacy in our community.”

Sean O’Donnell (Eaton High School) - Best Interpretation of the National PTA Reflections
A recent graduate of Eaton High School, O’Donnell had already received an Overall Award of Excellence in the Special Artist Visual Arts category in the Texas PTA Reflections contest. At Launch, he was also awarded an award for Best Interpretation of the National PTA Reflections. The 2022-2023 National PTA Reflections theme was “Show Your Voice!”.

Northwest ISD Council of PTAs - Key Award
The Northwest ISD Council of PTAs earned the Key Award, one of the highest honors a council can receive, thanks to eight consecutive years of increased PTA membership in NISD.
